I’ve been wondering lately whether our desire to provide support to young people when they are faced with trauma is helping or harming. Could too much “support” in difficult times reduce resilience? The millennial generation have been known primarily because of their helicopter parents. With parents now dealing with the fall out of the economic crisis, they are less able to swoop in and rescue their young adult children. Without resilience, how are these young adults going to cope?
